Drug Coating

Custom NX's drug coating consists of Biolimus A9^®, an immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory drug that is a derivative of rapamycin, and a PolyLactic Acid (PLA) coating, a biodegradable polymer used to release the drug over time. The chemical structure of Biolimus A9 was designed specifically for localized drug delivery from the surface of a stent. Biolimus A9 and PLA are licensed from Biosensors Europe S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Biosensors International Group, Ltd.
