The XTENT^® Custom NX^® DES System is a customizable drug eluting stent (DES) system designed to enable the treatment of single, multiple and long lesions with one device. The stent is proprietary modular design and consists of multiple 6mm cobalt chromium stent segments that are interdigitated. The delivery system is powered by NX™ technology and incorporates a protective sheath and a mechanism to control the length of stent deployed. The stents are coated with Biolimus A9^®, an immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory drug that is a derivative of rapamycin, combined with PolyLactic Acid, a biodegradable carrier used to release the drug over time. Biolimus A9 and PLA are licensed from Biosensors Europe S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Biosensors International Group, Ltd.
